My name is Halie Proshuto. I am a 22 year old senior at Drexel University with a major in Communications and a concentration in Public Relations. I am writing this blog for my final senior project in my last term at Drexel. I hope that I can help young adults learn a little more about mental illness and ways to deal with mental health issues. I’ll get more into the specifics later but for now a little bit about myself…
I’m a Jersey girl so, of course, I love the beach. I also enjoy listening to music from folk artists to pop-punk bands (follow me on Spotify!), and I love sci fi films.
As a communications major I am very passionate about establishing human relationships and being vocal about the topics I am interested in. I am writing this blog to advocate for young adults struggling with mental health issues in order to show them that they are not alone in the difficulties they face.
At the same time, I am writing this blog with the intent of keeping young adult audiences informed in the world of mental health. More than anything, I want to use this blog as a platform to share educational resources, self-help plans, and exemplary mental health campaigns. In doing so I hope my audiences will learn how to improve their mental health, and learn just why it is so important to advocate for the mental health community.
Here’s hoping this blog can give you some insight into your own mental health and, practicing ways to advocate for mental health awareness in your community.
Above all, I hope I can help you make your mind a priority.
